All Lockers Must Be Emptied and Unlocked

Camille Rodrigues — Western Wide Web

Curating texts from the 19th, 20th and 21st century alongside online found footage, this project gathers them together to explore the shift from real to virtual, providing an overview of what is means to be an internet user in contemporary Western society.

The online imagery is explored as a testimony of its user’s behaviours and the broader context of a modernising world’s core notions of capitalism, boredom, emancipation and reality. Using coding and Internet interfaces as a medium to express these ideas through an experimental website, this work proposes an online editorial design in line with the older graphic design’s tradition of editorial book design.
